Framed Wire Pumpkin

Hi folks! I wanted to share a simple fun craft I worked on this weekend. I had this idea floating around in my head for a while and wanted to make it happen.
Supplies needed:
Very flexible/thin wire, scissors, a frame, and (not pictured) jewelry making beads.
Wrapping the wire around itself, create the main circular part of the pumpkin first. Then, bead the jewels onto single pieces of wire to make the "creases" of the pumpkin. Then, create two "leaf" pieces to add to the top. This project took about twenty minutes total.

Thanks for taking a look! :)

Autumn "Mantle"

Hi folks! I wanted to share my autumn "mantle" with you. I do not have an actual mantle, but rather I use a bookcase my father built for me when I was a kid as my mantle. I love having so many shelves to play with every season. This year, I wanted to keep my decorations very neutral and natural. I think this bookcase really shows off my decorating style.
Thank you for taking a look around!

Natural Autumn Decor-- House Tour

"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."
- George Eliot

I love everything about the autumn season and decorating for it. It is truly my favorite time of the year-- the colors and scents and of course, that wonderful George Eliot quote that I have posted to Facebook on the official first day of fall for what it seems like the last four years.

This year, I wanted to to use more natural colors and tones for my house. Don't get me wrong, I love bright pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, and scarecrows, but in my own house, I need something more calming than that. Something that is subtle and goes with the rest of the decorations.

Join me on the fall tour of my house!
Lots of pictures to follow... :)

I don't have a mantel but I have a bookcase my dad built me when I was a child to put sports trophies on. I decorate that as a mantel. :)

Fall Ready Front Porch

Hi folks!
I did a little creating this afternoon with my boxes of fall decorations that I have been so excited to drag out.
Here is our fall porch!
For the wreaths, I just used two fall themed napkins and made bow-ties with them to attach to the grapevine wreaths. The pumpkins are sitting inside two candle holder cages I found on clearance a few months ago at a sweet little boutique. I added to fall-ish colored flowers to the urn/vase and we are good to go!

Now to tackle the inside!

Easy Bow-tie Fall Wreath

It's my favorite time of the year! Although today was warm still, there was a nice breeze a stirrin'...good enough for me! :)
I wanted to do double wreath for the front doors since they are double doors and I am all about symmetry. I decided to go the easy route and use a couple fall themed fabric napkins and create bow-ties with them. Then, using wire and string, I just attached them to the bottom of a grapevine wreath. E. A.  I love how they are cute but not too overpowering. We'll leave overpowering to the Christmas wreaths. ;)

Inside of Our Home Tour(ish)

I wanted to share some pictures of the inside of our house. It is still very much a work in progress and many rooms still don't have a single thing hanging on the wall, but I really love what it looks like so far. The wall color is Behr's Antique White in a satin finish.

(We are getting a new dining set soon, yay!)

Have a great week!

End of Summer Front Porch

Being as it is still in the 90s weather wise here, I thought I'd keep the decor on the porch neutral for the time being (even though I am busting with fall ideas!).

I have envisions of double wreaths on the doors for fall, pumpkins galore and some awesome arrangements. But that's a post for a later (and colder) day! ;)

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!
