Rustic Hanging Snowflakes

I hope everybody is having a wonderful weekend! The southeast is slowly starting to feel some of the cooler weather the rest of country has been battling.
I keep adding to and tweaking my decorations...that's the fun of it, right?!
I recently stumbled across this tutorial at Stephanie Lynn's blog and knew I had to make myself some clothespin snowflakes. Such a genius and simple's like clothespins were made just for this purpose. You can check out her post for an awesome in-dept tutorial.
Well, I whipped my self up some of those and wanted to hang them from the curtain rods in the front room that faced the porch. I love how they turned out! They are so simple but add such a sweet touch to the windows.

I hope everyone has a great week ahead!

Christmas Tree O' Christmas Tree

One of these years I will choose a real tree...but not this year. :) I love how rustic and smell-goody real trees are but I also love how easy a faux tree is and how predictable the shape of it is.
Maybe next year we will have one of each. :)

As for what's on the tree itself, well, it's truly a mixture of the ornaments that tell the story of our lives...a bowling ball and pin ornament for that summer we did a couples bowling league...a goldfish ornament for the fish I had in my college dorm room days...a Lady and the Tramp Hallmark my husband gave me on our first Christmas as a couple. Just little nuggets to think so fondly about while putting up the tree every year. :)

And of course, you can't have a burlap tree without a twine wrapped monogram. :)

I hope you are staying warm!

Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to my first official home tour! Yippee! No more apartments and no more renting makes for a very happy decorating addict. Stay awhile-- there are plenty of pictures!

Farmhouse Dining Room Decked for Christmas

Really quickly, before I do an entire house tour, I wanted to share with you what I did for the dining room table decorations. We just recently acquired this table-- it was given to us by a family friend and needed some TLC so my dad fixed it up for us. I love the shape of it! Anyway, I finally have a larger table to add holiday decorations to! Yay!

 Thanks for stopping by! :)
